Tokyo Surfboards Supaishina Tamago ( Soup-eye-sheena Ta-ma-go) (Spicy Egg) – Free-surf

The Tokyo Spicy Egg takes the relaxed glide and flowing character of an egg and gives it a more refined, modern edge.

A slightly more pointed nose, balanced outline and relaxed rocker combine to create a board that carries speed effortlessly while encouraging long, drawn-out turns and smooth changes of direction. It has the familiar ease and stability you'd expect from an egg, but with a little more precision and response when you start asking more of it.

The Spicy Egg is at its best when you let it run. Rather than forcing tight, short turns, it rewards drawn-out lines, clean rail engagement and good positioning on the wave. It generates speed naturally and carries that momentum through sections where a more traditional outline might begin to feel sluggish.

The 2 + 1 fin configuration gives the board another layer of versatility, allowing it to be tuned towards smooth, flowing single-fin surfing or given additional drive and hold when the waves demand it.

It is equally happy trimming through clean summer walls or being pushed harder as the surf gets more powerful.

Free surfing isn't about doing less. It's about making everything connect.

Design Philosophy:

The Spicy Egg began with a simple idea: take the qualities that make an egg so enjoyable to surf and give them a little more edge.

The result is a refined outline with a modern pointed nose, relaxed rocker and carefully balanced rails that allow the board to generate speed without feeling cumbersome.

The design is intended to bridge the gap between effortless cruising and genuine performance. It has enough volume and stability to make catching waves straightforward, but enough refinement through the outline and bottom contours to reward surfers who want to draw longer, more committed lines.

The Spicy Egg doesn't demand a particular style of surfing.

It gives you the freedom to find your own.

Designer's Notes:

The Spicy Egg was developed around the simple pleasure of a board that carries speed naturally.

We wanted something that could be trimmed, cruised and drawn through long turns without feeling like a board you had to work hard to make perform.

The pointed nose and refined outline give the design a more modern feel, while the relaxed rocker and generous planing area retain the easy-going character that makes an egg so enjoyable.

It is a board that encourages you to look further down the wave rather than immediately thinking about the next manoeuvre.

Find the line.

Set the rail.

Let it run.

That's the Spicy Egg.

Tokyo Design Philosophy:

Every Tokyo Surfboard begins as a conversation.

Ideas are sketched, prototypes are built, outlines are refined and details are questioned until every element earns its place.

We don't chase annual model releases or passing trends. Every design in the Tokyo collection exists because it solves a problem, offers a unique surfing experience or reminds us why we fell in love with surfing in the first place.

Each board is individually hand-shaped in Britain by master craftsmen using carefully selected materials and construction methods chosen for longevity rather than planned obsolescence.

We believe the most sustainable surfboard is one that remains in the water for decades, not seasons.

Tokyo Surfboards was founded on a simple belief:

Build better boards. Build fewer boards. Build boards worth keeping.
