Tokyo Puroguresshibu (See-Boo) – Progressive
The Tokyo See-Boo was born from the idea that progressive longboarding shouldn't be reserved for surfers who want to ride the most demanding board in the range.
Developed by Lee Willoughby and Steve Hendon, with valuable influence from Tokyo team rider Esmee Gregorious, the See-Boo takes the progressive DNA of the Tokyo 9'1" and turns the volume down a little. The outline is fuller, the rocker more forgiving and the overall package more approachable, while retaining enough performance to encourage surfers to move around the board and attack the wave.
The result is a longboard that sits comfortably between traditional logging and full progressive performance. It has the stability and paddle power to make catching waves easy, but responds quickly enough when you step back and start pushing the board harder.
The See-Boo particularly suits surfers who want to develop their progressive longboarding without immediately jumping onto the demanding 9'1". It rewards good footwork, encourages movement and gives you the freedom to explore both ends of the board.
Influenced by Esmee's surfing, the See-Boo has characteristics that make it particularly well suited to many female surfers, without being limited to them. Its combination of manageable dimensions, accessible performance and forgiving nature makes it an incredibly versatile progressive longboard for anyone looking to surf the board rather than simply ride along on it.
Progressive doesn't have to mean intimidating.
Design Philosophy:
The See-Boo began with the 9'1".
We wanted to keep the performance characteristics that make the 9'1" so capable, but create a board that was easier to approach and more forgiving when things weren't quite perfect.
The outline was given more width and volume, the rocker was relaxed and the rails were balanced to create a board that feels reassuring beneath your feet without becoming dull.
Underneath, the bottom contours work together to keep the board moving freely. A subtle spoon through the nose flows into double concave before transitioning into rolled V, allowing the board to trim naturally while still responding when pressure is applied through the tail.
The result is a board that can be surfed from nose to tail without demanding the precision of a full competition longboard.
It is progressive longboarding made more accessible.

Designer's Notes:
The See-Boo was never intended to replace the 9'1".
It was created because we wanted another way into progressive longboarding.
The 9'1" demands commitment. The See-Boo gives you a little more room to find your feet.
It carries more volume, has a more forgiving outline and a more relaxed rocker, making it easier to paddle, easier to catch waves and more forgiving when your positioning isn't perfect.
But once you're standing, it still wants to be surfed.
Move forward and the board responds. Step back and the tail comes alive. Put it on rail and it rewards the same commitment and movement that define progressive longboarding.
That balance is what makes the See-Boo special.
Enough performance to push you. Enough forgiveness to keep you smiling.

Tokyo Design Philosophy:
Every Tokyo Surfboard begins as a conversation.
Ideas are sketched, prototypes are built, outlines are refined and details are questioned until every element earns its place.
We don't chase annual model releases or passing trends. Every design in the Tokyo collection exists because it solves a problem, offers a unique surfing experience or reminds us why we fell in love with surfing in the first place.
Each board is individually hand-shaped in Britain by master craftsmen using carefully selected materials and construction methods chosen for longevity rather than planned obsolescence.
We believe the most sustainable surfboard is one that remains in the water for decades, not seasons.
Tokyo Surfboards was founded on a simple belief:
Build better boards. Build fewer boards. Build boards worth keeping.
